DINOSAURS were wiped off the Earth by an asteroid, rather than volcanic action as several theories suggest, new study reveals.

Most think an asteroid has been the offender, but a few have indicated that tens of thousands of years of volcanic eruptions might have been the true cause.
Brit researchers have shown that just the asteroid impact may have created conditions which made the world uninhabitable for dinosaurs.

Lead researcher Dr Alessandro Chiarenza, of Imperial College London, stated:”The asteroid generated an effect winter for decades, and those ecological effects decimated appropriate environments for dinosaurs. )
