Carol Kirkwood was available to offer an replace on the heatwave sweeping the nation this week as she stood in Greenwich Park. However, as she reported on the issues she’d seen this morning, she unintentionally confused canine walkers with doggers leaving viewers tickled.

Following on from the hilarious second, Carol took to Twitter to apologise for the slip-up.

She instructed her 181,700 followers: “That will educate me to try to say joggers and canine walkers in the identical sentence!!! Sorry! xxx.”

Her BBC Breakfast co-star Dan Walker was fast to answer insisting nobody would have observed.

Fans additionally rushed to share their love for Carol with one sharing: “I ABSOLUTELY LOVE YOU.”

Another posted: “That was good. How did you retain a straight face? I’d have misplaced it.”

Someone else teased: “Ha ha, don’t be concerned Carol, No one will deliver it up!!!”

“Almost choked on my weetabix laughing. Obviously all of the ‘joggers’ will need to have already had theirs!” a 3rd replied to Carol.

Following the slip-up, Greenwich Park started trending on Twitter with the hashtags #BBCBreakfast and #doggers.
